Our Policies
We care about the care and well-being of your pet. We will make every effort to provide you and your pet with a safe and comfortable experience. Our policies and procedures are in place to provide clarity, consistency, and accountability both for your pets' care and our business practices.
Veterinary Care
All pets receiving grooming or care from Finnigan Pet Services are required to receive regular veterinary care at least yearly and be up to date on all vaccinations. All pets must have a veterinary contact on file and are encouraged to send rabies, bordetella, and any other vaccination or procedure records to finnigan.petservices@gmail.com. Please understand that you may be asked to produce these records at any time.
Anxious or Aggressive Animals
Pet care and well-being is our top priority. We aim to create a safe environment for pets and professionals. A large part of this is "listening" to what the pet is feeling. Pets who are unwilling to be groomed may flail, bite, lunge, kick, yawn, freeze up, or even experience seizures or cardiac events. This poses a far greater risk of injury or harm. In these cases, some groomers will push through to finish the groom. However, this often teaches pets to be more fearful of grooming and to not trust grooming. Finnigan Pet Services has the right to refuse services at any point during the grooming process and will if the groomer deems it unsafe to continue with the groom.
Existing Health Concerns
Finnigan Pet Services requires owners to disclose any and all pre-existing medical concerns. Pets with existing health concerns are at higher risk for complications and may require more time and care. Further, grooming has the ability to expose hidden medical problems or aggravate those we are aware of (this may occur during or after a grooming procedure). Owners are responsible for any and all medical expenses and veterinary care.
Accidents
While grooming is an essential part of a healthy dog's routine, it does come with risks. In grooming we use many sharp tools that, even with utmost care and attention, can cause harm. On the rare occasion of nicks, scratches, cuts, burns, or quickening of nails; Finnigan Pet Services will contact the owner and provide first aid if needed. In the event of a medical emergency, Finnigan Pet Services has full authority to seek medical care from the nearest available veterinarian at the owner's expense.
Allergic Reactions
Finnigan Pet Services uses only products that have been deemed safe and beneficial for pets, researches specific usage, and consults with owners about any conditions that may impact product use. In the rare occasion that your pet develops an allergic reaction, rash, or inflammation we ask that you notify Finnigan Pet Services within 24 hours of your appointment.
Grooming Distractions
Many pets get excitable when they see someone (especially mom or dad!) walking up to see them. This puts a pet at a higher risk for accidents and causes the groom to take longer overall. For these reasons, we ask that you refrain from approaching the mobile salon unless asked or notified that your pet is ready.
Matting
Pets with a significant amount of matting require extra attention and care. Matting cause the hair to tightly bound together against the skin. This often pulls on and harms the skin, restricts blood flow, traps moisture and bacteria, and is a breeding ground for a variety of unseen parasites. Finnigan Pet Services will not put undue stress on any animal by de-matting them and puts a 45 minute cap on all de-matting services (this may be shorter depending on the pet's tolerance). Shaving is the only humane way to remove severe matting. Removing a severely matted coat holds its own list of potential problems including nicks, cuts, scrapes, hematomas, etc. In some severe cases, dogs can even exhibit behavioral changes after matts are removed. There will be an additional fee for severe matting - it is a time consuming process and causes extra wear and tear on grooming equipment.
Cancelations
Please provide at least 48 hour rescheduling or cancelation request via phone call or text message. Failure to provide adequate notice will result in a charge equal to 65% of the scheduled appointment cost from Finnigan Pet Services LLC. We do understand that things happen in life and all fees and/or future discounts will be at the groomers' discretion.
No Shows
No shows or day-of cancelations will result in a charge equal to 110% of the scheduled appointment cost (this covers the missed appointment, sales tax, and processing). Clients that have missed appointments previously will be asked to pre-pay their future appointments in full upon booking (clients may have additional charges day-of for any extra services). In order to re-book all invoices must be paid in full.
Late Starts
All pets are expected to be ready for services when we arrive. It is a priority to allow each pet enough time to be properly cared for. Putting the pet professional behind affects all of the day's appointments. A late start is often a concern with our grooming services. Upon arrival, pet pawrents will have 5 minutes to gather their pet and bring them to our mobile salon. It is up to the groomer's discretion whether you will still be serviced that day. There will be a fee of $15 for tardiness. If your appointment needs to be canceled or rescheduled do to a late start, you will be subject to our no show policy.
Specialty Products
Finnigan Pet Services has many luxury salon add-ons and additional products to fit each client's individual needs that can be made available upon request. In order to make that happen, we need to special order many of the products with a specific pet in mind. If we do not have the niche products in stock for your pet's groom we are happy to order it however, if you opt to not to add the additional service or product day-of you may be charged a fee of up to 100% of the additional service cost.
Payment
We currently accept cash payments (no change will be provided) or card/invoice payments. All payments are due by the end of service. We offer some programs that will be charged on a recurring basis as well and invoice dates will be communicated to you. All clients are required to have a payment method saved in our Clover system after their first appointment, if you choose to opt out of this an approximate 50% deposit will be required upon booking.
Quality
The quality of our grooms and our client satisfaction is very important to us. If there is anything that you are unhappy with, please let us know so that we can adjust it for you. We are more than happy to make any adjustments you'd like. You will have a 24 hour window to let us know if there are any adjustments that need to be made. After the 24 hour period, all return visits will be considered and billed as new appointments.
Media
By choosing to utilize Finnigan Pet Services, you grant permission to post photos/videos of your pets on our social media, website, and in any promotional materials. If you do not consent to this, please let your pet professional know.
